INNOVATION_{UNDERSTANDING CHANGE, SHAPING THE FUTURE}

The Henkel Packaging RecycLab has officially launched its operations in China. This specialized facility is dedicated to evaluating how adhesive solutions can drive innovation in packaging recycling and accelerate the transition to a circular economy. Through localized testing and process optimization, the RecycLab will enhance Henkel's capabilities in serving the Chinese and broader Asia-Pacific markets. A delegation led by LI Hua, Chairperson of the China Packaging Federation, visited the lab and jointly initiated the 2025 ‘Green Packaging Recycling China Tour’ with Henkel.

Modern-day packaging is expected to fulfil a whole host of requirements. It needs to protect products, meet growing consumer expectations in terms of sustainability, and support the circular economy – all while ensuring conformity with legal requirements, such as EU packaging regulations. At this year’s ‘Sustainability in Packaging’ conference in Barcelona and the ‘Sustainable Packaging Summit’ in Utrecht, Henkel will be presenting practical solutions to help companies overcome these challenges.

In line with its  Sustainability Ambition 2030, Henkel Adhesive Technologies is continuously enhancing the transparency of the environmental impact of its products. This commitment, known as end-to-end transparency, is based on reliable data and consistent measurement methodologies aligned with internationally recognized standards. As part of this approach, Henkel`s construction adhesives business is offering an increasing number of Environmental Product Declarations ‏(EPDs). These declarations provide detailed insights into the environmental footprint of individual products, enabling both Henkel and its customers to make more informed decisions and identify opportunities for continuous sustainability improvements.
